We are currently finalising our plan to decommission drainage systems in Zdoňov and Velká Ves. Three methods will be used in total. First, there will be a classical cut-off of a collector drainpipe, associated with the creation of three smaller ponds in Zdoňov. Second, also in Zdoňov, we will interrupt the smaller branch drainpipes, which channel water into collector drainpipes, and construct cut-off walls. Third, we will conduct an experimental clogging of branch drainpipes using bentonite in both localities. The impact of these interventions on the given territories will be closely observed. We have already started to measure soil moisture, installed several sensors for measuring the groundwater level, and are working to commence biological surveys.
